PROGRAM INFORMATION
Welcome BRONZE Combo #1 Duke of Edinburgh Parents and Carers
Are you the Participant? Please have your Parent/Guardian read the information below, complete the details with/for you and provide their Consent.
Before proceeding with this registration, please ensure and confirm:
♦ The Participant is currently enrolled in High School and registered with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
♦ The Participant has both competency and fitness to complete the full expedition duration.
♦ The Participant's Award Leader has confirmed with you and/or your Child/Ward, that the 'mode of travel' is appropriate.
♦ You and/or your Child/Ward has received Award Leader Approval ensuring the Award Centre (School) gives permission for their attendance.
♦ You have read and accept the Terms & Conditions relating to Cancellation of an Expedition (including for sickness, injury or change in personal circumstances).

| Expedition |
| Bronze Combo : Practice 1 day | Overnight at Base between Practice & Qualifying | Qualifying 2 days / 1 night The beginning of the passage through the Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journeys. The Preliminary Training and Bronze Expeditions are important in laying the foundations of basic navigation, campcraft and team skills to build on throughout Silver and Gold levels. Skills learnt and experiences gained are also valuable to Participants as they emerge from adolescence to adulthood.

Equipment List - Dukes | Everything you need for Camp. A link to the Equipment List will be emailed to you once registration is complete. Somerset provides the following Group Equipment:
♦ Trangia Stoves (+fuel & matches).
♦ Cooking pots and pans & kitchen implements. ♦ Fresh water at each overnight Campsite. ♦ Navigation equipment, maps and compasses for each Group. Participants need to Bring:
♦ Tent (or hire from Somerset)
♦ Rucksack - 60-80 litres (or hire from Somerset). ♦ Sleeping Bag and Sleeping Mat (or hire from Somerset). ♦ Mess Kit - cutlery, plate/bowl, mug. ♦ Water bottles for 3 litres of water. No purification tablets needed.
♦ Clothing, shoes and personal items - refer to our Equipment List. ♦ Pen/Pencil & plastic zip-lock bag. Overnight at Base between Practice & Qualifying Expeditions. Rest | Reflect | Repack | Reset | Reconsider:
♦ Clothes and gear for overnight at Base as well as for the Qualifying is left at Base when doing the Practice - bring in a soft sports bag or similar.
♦ Food for the Qualifying is left at Base whilst doing the Practice - package in a plastic bag or similar. ♦ There's time for showers – so bring soap, towel, a set of comfy clothes - all can be stored at Base when out on expeditione. ♦ There will be plenty of time to repack and reset during the time back at Base. | Food - You Need to Bring |

Somerset provides the following meals (after the Practice and next morning before the Qualifying Expedition).
Day 1 | Dinner, Dessert and Supper.
Day 2 | Breakfast. Participants need to Bring: 1 Breakfast, 3 Lunches, 1 Dinner, snacks & a small emergency meal. Day 1 | Lunch and Snacks (ie; supper, mornos & arvo tea, etc)
Day 2 | Lunch, Dinner and Snacks Day 3 | Brekkie, Lunch and Snacks Just in case | A small emergency ration – eg; a freeze dried meal or a tin of beans.
